Three team sports I have played,
And in all I have sucked,
Besides rules and the ambience,
Physicality has me fucked.
In football, both frail and feeble,
My kicks were hardly strong,
And besides a terrible attempt at defending,
I couldn’t hit the ball far along.
In basketball, both short and clumsy,
Apparently “traveling” is a thing?
And besides that guy who’d pass you the ball,
I couldn’t get the ball into the ring.
In cricket, a dismal batter at best,
What the hell are “overs” and “inning?”
And besides perhaps passable at batting,
Balling would have my own head spinning.
There is one other, gridiron,
Rules I know, games I’d watch, played I have not.
But could you call it enjoying,
If the hot guys were all you sought?
It is not that I hate sports,
Stereotypes I’d take down, in protests I cry.
But a challenge, even in the fun,
I wonder if anything I should retry.
